How do I 'Login' to Unix?

To connect to a foreign host you would need to use a client program. Such client
program is Telnet. It comes free with most operating systems.

For Microsoft Windows Operating System:
     1. Click on the 'Start' button.
     2. Select the 'Run...' option.
     3. Type in the following command:

         for the uisacad server:  telnet uisacad.uis.edu

For Macintosh Operating Systems:
     1. Locate the Telnet application program.
     2. Open the program by double clicking.
     3. From the File menu select 'Open Connection'.
     4. In the session name box type in the name of the remote computer system you wish to connect to, ex: uisacad.uis.edu
     5. Press OK, and then login.

Note: You must have a NetID and a password as well as an account on uisacad.uis.edu
