Dr. Allan Roth

Dr. Allan Roth has over 25 years of successful experience as a University Teacher and Researcher. Starting in 1997 he completed 2 years in a Medical Informatics post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Missouri and became a Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) in 1999. During this fellowship, Dr Roth was co-author of two papers on audit trail analysis and computer misuse detection. Following that training, he obtained 5 years experience in Information Technology Management and Information Assurance, as Director of Information Systems and Chief Information Security Officer for a large medical group in Springfield, IL. He started teaching part time in the Computer Science Department, University of Illinois at Springfield in 1999 and then in 2005 he joined the Department full time as a visiting instructor and part of the Information Security Core in that department. He presently teaches a course on Graphical User Interface design and a course in Intrusion Detection and the Capstone Information Security course and a course in Information Security Policy. He also has been actively keeping his Information Security knowledge current by taking several training courses. He has recently completed a Digital Forensics course and a Cisco-sponsored Security Bootcamp course.
